Feel the pulse of Ghana on this energetic drumming and dance class that puts you at the centre of the action. Led by master drummers and traditional dancers, this hands-on experience teaches you the rhythms and movements that are at the heart of Ghanaian culture. The class begins with an introduction to the instruments — from the mighty atumpan (talking drums) to the fontomfrom (bass drums) and the rhythmic shakers. Your master drummer demonstrates the basic rhythms, and you'll learn to play along, feeling the vibrations and energy of the drums. Once you've got the basics of drumming, it's time to add dance. A traditional dancer teaches you the movements that accompany the rhythms — from the graceful movements of Adowa dance to the energetic steps of Kpanlogo. By the end of the class, you'll be drumming and dancing together with the group, creating an incredible collaborative performance. The experience includes private transport and is suitable for all skill levels — no prior musical or dance experience is needed.
